Whether you’ve just landed your ship on a new moon or you’re about to leave, the danger is not over yet. You will stumble into much bigger entities, which you will have to avoid in order to survive. Below, you will find a list of all outdoor entities that can occur on your journey between the facility and your ship.
Baboon Hawk
Baboon Hawks hop around on their legs and ends of their wings and will often come in troops. If they spot a lonely player, they will try hopping their way closer to you and try to kill you if you’re too close. If you’re in a group, they tend to keep their distance from the players until they’re alone again. They also scream and spread their wings to show intimidation. They only spawn on 220-Assurance, 56-Vow, and on the intermediate moons, while 61-March has the highest spawn rate.
Here's how you can deal with it:
I suggest you avoid them, as you’d need to hit them 4 times using a shovel or a sign in order to kill them, and you’re more likely to die than to kill them.
Earth Leviathan
arth Leviathans, also known as Sandworms, are massive, worm-like entities. Though avoidable when encountered on their own, having Eyeless Dogs nearby makes running away a lot harder. They roam in the ground, seeking for players right above them, then jump out of the ground to eat them. Earth Leviathans can spawn on any moon, while 220-Assurance has the highest spawn rate.
Here's how you can deal with it:
If an Earth Leviathan is about to attack you, you will notice a loud rumble and ground particles coming from the ground. At this point, turn 180° and run away (if necessary, drop your loot so you’ll be fast enough). They are programmed in a way where they predict your path, so not turning around will result in death as well. If you’re on the terminal, viewing at the monitor, you’ll see them as a huge red dot wandering on a random path.
Eyeless Dog
Eyeless dogs are, as the name suggests, blind dogs that are very sensitive to environmental sounds. If the player makes any noise (walking, speaking, etc.), the dog will move in the player’s direction. If the sound is very loud, the eyeless dog will become aggressive and charge towards the direction where the sound is coming from. If they catch you, you’re instantly dead. They can spawn on every moon, while 8-Titan has the highest spawn rate.
Here's how you can deal with it:
The most obvious method is to remain silent around them. If you (for some reason) have to make noise, try dodging their charges sideways. That way, they can’t catch you. It’s not recommended to try to kill them, as it takes 12 hits using a shovel or a sign. Additionally, a crewmate in the ship can order a cheap item, where the dropship will temporarily distract the eyeless dogs, allowing the player to safely enter the ship (while remaining quiet).
Forest Giant
Forest Keepers, or more commonly known as Forest Giants or simply Giants, are gargantuan and extremely quick entities, with the same speed as a sprinting Employee, eating any Employees they can get their hands on. They have great eyesight but are incapable of hearing. They produce loud footsteps when walking/running, so it is easy to tell when a Forest Keeper is around. Giants can spawn on every moon, but have the highest spawn rate on 56-Vow.
Here's how you can deal with it:
If you spot a Giant, try hiding behind a tree or a rock to avoid eye contact and wait until it’s gone. Assuming you’re playing with your friend, you can avoid getting eaten by either teleporting the victim in time or shocking the Giant using the zap gun or the radar booster (which will make the Giant drop the player, so start running immediately).
